Rohit Sharma, who scored 38 off 24 balls with the help of three fours and as many sixes, gave Mumbai Indians a terrific start, in chase of 197, with his opening partner Ishan Kishan. Playing second fiddle, Rohit and Kishan, who played a blistering 69-run knock off 34 balls, added 101 runs for the first wicket. Kishan hammered 7 fours and 5 sixes during his stay in the middle. Interestingly, this was the 93rd time Rohit had opened the batting in IPL and the first time he has been involved in a 100+ opening partnership.
