In 2010, a Wimbledon match got so long the scoreboard simply broke

John Isner and Nicolas Mahut produced the longest match in tennis history at Wimbledon 2010, battling for 11 hours and five minutes across three days. Their deciding set lasted eight hours and 11 minutes, with Isner eventually winning 70-68. The marathon produced 183 games, 215 aces and a scoreboard-breaking scoreline, later inspiring HBO’s “7 Days in Hell.”
